Joseph - A Review

Updated: Jan 18, 2021

Author: Kris Michaels

This is book 2 in the Kings of Guardian Series and it’s just as good as the first one.

Joseph is the oldest of the brothers and the demons he wrestles with every day are strong, vicious and threaten to consume him. He’s ok with that. It’s who he is and who he wants to be. He uses it to be one of Guardian’s Shadow assets who deals with those others won’t touch. Except for his family, he has no ties to anyone or anything. When the girl from his distant teenage years calls, he has no choice but to go to her aid. He loved her when they were kids and he would do anything for her. Except give them what they both want but know they can’t have. A future together. He will keep her safe, though. At any cost. Even if that means forfeiting his own life.

Ember is a trauma doctor and has seen her fair share of life’s ugliest, but she is feisty, tough and has a personality to match the fiery red of her hair. When danger comes calling, she calls the only person she knows who might be able to help her. She has no idea what she’s gotten herself into, but now there’s someone who will go to the ends of the earth to help and protect her.

Just like the first book, the story is beautifully written with characters so well described you feel they’re real. Settings, sounds and emotions are all there in full 3D effect, and I could easily get lost in the book and read it all in one sitting. In fact, I think I did.
