The Ticket - A Review

Updated: Jan 18, 2021

Author: Heather Grace Stewart

This romantic comedy had me giggling and laughing all the way through. The premise of the story is interesting and something I believe has happened in real life. Or at least some version of it.

Pete McCarney has a Christmas vacation planned to six cities around the world. The problem? He recently split with his girlfriend who was supposed to have come with him, so now he faces going alone. The solution? Post a message on Facebook to invite anyone with a valid passport in the same name as his girlfriend to come forward, and he will pay all expenses for a three-week trip. With him. Cue our female lead. She’s a mom of two teenage daughters, was cheated on by her husband and recently divorced from said husband, who now wants the daughters to spend Christmas with him and his new woman.

Allie has the right name, the time off and hasn’t had a vacation in three years.

Can two complete strangers travel the world together for three weeks? You have to read it to find out. It is sweet, charming, funny and utterly captivating. I didn’t want to put the books down and that’s saying something as I don’t normally go for romcoms. Great characters with real personality and settings so well described you feel like a fly on the wall.

I will definitely read more from this author.
